Insights into Upper Lesmurdie Falls Mike Robinson, President of The Friends of Upper Lesmurdie Falls together with Terry and Carmel Ballinger will give a presentation on the status of the Upper Lesmurdie Falls and provide some indicators on other areas around Kalamunda which may require similar remediation. Mike Robinson was instrumental in leading and coordinating the remedial work undertaken at the Upper Lesmurdie Falls to remove introduced plant species, restore the creek and plant native species of flora. Since completion of the project, The Friends of Upper Lesmurdie Falls have created a nursery comprising native plant species suitable for re-planting in the Falls area. The nursery is run by Carmel and Terry Ballinger and they will provide us insights in how the nursery is operated and the types of flora they specialise in. The environment is now one of the key areas of focus for Rotary. The Rotary Club of Kalamunda is keen to add additional projects to its environmental portfolio and this presentation is seen as a importance to identify new areas around Kalamunda requiring restoration. Registration Costs: $5 per person payable by direct debit to: Rotary Club of Kalamunda - Members Account BSB: 633-000 A/c No: 117266683 Meals: Buy your own at the bar. Prices from $15/meal. |
