Our guest speaker was PP Ahmed Siddique  Rotary Club of Morley who spoke in detail about the Buddy Bench program his Club is involved with including their relationship with local businesses and the Morley Mens Shed. The program has been cost neutral due to help from others and they believe is a very useful addition to the local primary schools. Ahmed attracted many questions and is available for further information and guidance including contacts with Bunnings and Midalia Steel for free materials.
This program may be of interest to our Club but it needs looking at carefully before committing ourselves.
NEXT MEETING
At the Lesmurdie Club
This is our annual general meeting and includes election of Club Officers to serve in the 25/26 Rotary year.
I have received nominations to date for Secretary, Treasurer, and one board member. The President Nominee for 25/26 is Lisa Beeby who will become President Elect.
We need nominations for President Nominee 26/27 and at least three more board members for 25/26.
Nominations must be in writing ( email ) approved by the nominee and received by the Secretary by 6.pm on the 10th

Copies of the Annual Report 23/24 have been emailed to all members

The by-laws of the Club include the following clause which requires reviewing each year:
Article 6 Dues

Annual club dues are shall be reviewed and determined by the Board each year, payable annually (July 1st) or semi-annually (July 1st and January 1st). Dues must be paid within 30 days of such dates.
Annual club dues include RI per capita dues, subscriptions to an official magazine, district per capita dues, club fees, and any other Rotary or district per capita assessment.
The Board shall consider subsidising club dues and membership expenses annually to facilitate the cost of membership which should not be an impediment to membership or participation in club activities.

Questions have been asked about the need for a annual audit of the Club books. The following extract from the R I Code of Policies states that a review by a qualified person is a requirement:

9.010.  Club Finances At the beginning of each fiscal year the club’s board of directors shall prepare or cause to be prepared a budget of estimated income and estimated expenditures for the year, which, having been agreed to by the board, shall stand as the limit of expenditures for the respective purposes unless otherwise ordered by action of the board. All bills shall be paid by the treasurer, or other authorized officer, only after approval by two other officers or directors.  An annual financial review by a qualified person shall be made of all the club’s financial transactions.  (January 2008 Mtg., Bd. Dec. 142) Source:  November 2004 Mtg., Bd. Dec. 59; Amended by January 2008 Mtg., Bd. Dec. 142
