NOTICES
Meeting Notes from 3 November 2020
We had 16 members attending, as well as Rotaractors Emma and Sarah Wignell.

President Kaye
The by-laws were presented to all Club Members over 2 weeks ago to review. Today we put the amended by-laws to vote and it was unanimously approved, and the by-laws have now been adopted. Click here if you are a member to access your copy of the by-laws.

Jonathan
We are looking at supporting Foodbank with a Cans for Christmas collection.  The suggestion was made to have a drive through drop off on Saturday 12 December.  We may also have a bin or table outside Coles, Woollies and Aldi.

Emma – Sharing the Dignity
Emma talked about this program which seeks to bring dignity to women and girls experiencing homelessness, domestic violence and poverty through the distribution of sanitary items.  Emma is a volunteer with the group which is an Australia wide organisation.

It’s In The Bag is a Christmas campaign where recycled handbags are filled with sanitary items as well as shampoo, conditioner etc and distributed to those in need.  There are adult bags, teen bags and mother and baby bags.

How can we help?
  • Collect pre-loved bags
  • Purchase donations
  • Help sort products and pack handbags
  • Cash donations to enable the purchase of items
Remember, the impact is proportionate to the level of donations received.
Our club will make a donation – amount to be determined.
The Sharing The Dignity website has more information – see the link below.

President Kaye
Possibility of an Australia Day concert in the shell at Stirk Park.  It is $7,000 for a tribute band who play Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles.  May be able to get a grant from District.

BBQ With Rotaractors
This is on 28 November.  Everyone brings everything – meat, drinks, chair, table, plates, cutlery and a salad or a sweet.

Paul
  • Paul had the Centurion forms for Rotary Foundation.  It is $100 a year to be part of it.
  • The movie for polio is Sunday, 22 November starting at 6.30 at Greater Union cinemas in the Morley Galleria.  Tickets are $20 of which $10 goes to Foundation.
Ric
We have a stall at the Men’s Shed Open Day which is Saturday week, 14 November.  Ric is looking for volunteers. Rotaractors will be there with their Chocolate Wheel.

President Elect
So far, no takers, so here it is again!
Members will remember that Kaye took on this year’s Presidency at short notice.  However, we don’t have a President Elect for the 21/22 Rotary year.  We need members to put some thought into this as we need this position filled before the end of the year.  Given that we are a smaller club these days, we may need a former President to raise their hand.
