Budget 2021/2022
Franziska presented a detailed account of the club’s budget for the current Rotary year.  Salient points include:
  • Last year, despite losing 3 markets, we raised just over $90 000.
  • Expenses were around $30 000, giving a profit of $60 000.
  • Our funds were well spent.
  • We need to continue to be conservative with our planning as we could well lose more markets through COVID.  We are also unsure of how many stalls we will be able to have in Stirk Park while the mall is being redeveloped.
  • We would like members to do some fundraising for each project.

There was general discussion on various items of expenditure and needs.  This included:
  • Community Services to look at a braille printer for the Activ Foundation.  Perhaps we could have an Activ rep to come to the club.
  • Will we look at a Pride of Workmanship award?  Would call it the Albert Hazebroek award.
  • Bill – the Stirk Park soundshell needs a Rotary wheel erected - thank you to Laith who has offered to sponsor the wheel.
  • The lighting for the shell needs to be upgraded.

Franziska was thanked for a great presentation.
