History of Anzac and WW2 involvement of the Mullan family.
John gave a fascinating account mainly about his Grandfathers involvement culminating in a book which outlines daily diary of events .
He started his presentation by saying his brother served in Vietnam for 8 months and returned .His Uncle however was killed by Japanese in New Guinea after having served in the Middle East at Tobruk and El Alamein.
John's grandfather served in both World Wars and received a number of commemorative medals. He oversaw the surrender of the Japanese and was given a Sword from a Japanese Officer. The sword and other souvenirs from WW1 is still in the family and we were privileged to see them including the Sword, Drinks bottle, Food box of rations.
He read a number of extracts from his Grandfathers diary book which gave us an insight into events and thoughts of both Wars.

To thank John, Franziska presented him with an illustrated book The Tin Horse Highway which is based in the area of Kulin, John's home town.
