Last meeting we had a very moving presentation from Geoff Russell from the Mt Lawley club regarding a child with multiple disabilities and the help she needs.
Geoff told us about a Perth child called Scarlett who has a very difficult life. She has multiple disabilities. Because of a rare genetic disorder, she faces a number of challenges. She has Hypotonia, which means she am very floppy and has low muscle tone. she is nearly two years old but unfortunately cannot roll, sit, crawl or stand unassisted. she was also born with a cleft palate, club foot, hearing loss and a level of vision similar to legal blindness, as well as being at high risk of seizures. She has a syndrome (G&B) of which there are only 64 individuals identified world wide. Geoff showed us a very sad video of the girl's life, but through all that she was a beautiful smiling child. To transport her, the family needs a $40 000 specially fitted out vehicle which they simply can't afford. So far around $27 000 has been raised, much of it through the Rotary Club of Mt Lawley. They would appreciate any help we can give.
